There has been much publicity about our proposals to create a brand new ‘Garden Village’ community at Dissington which will also include a range of new infrastructure improvements including ood alleviation works to protect Ponteland town centre and delivery of a relief road/bypass to address historic congestion and access problems.
Working closely with Northumberland County Council we have submitted an Expression of Interest to the Department of Communities & Local Government in response to the prospectus ‘Locally –led Garden Villages’ they issued earlier this year.
We are committed to delivering a community of exceptional quality. To assist us in achieving this we are working with the Princes Foundation who are nationally renowned experts in achieving design quality of the highest standard. The master plan for the new village is being prepared by internationally recognised architects Farrells and indeed Sir Terry Farrell has given his personal endorsement to the project.
Currently an outline planning application is being prepared following the Enquiry By Design consultation event the Prince’s Foundation hosted and we will be sharing the draft scheme via a series of open days at our o ces at Prestwick Park and on our website. We will provide further information on the dates and times of these events which will be held over a number of weeks from mid-November on our website events page and via social media.
